Spotlight On Numero 74 – Adding a Touch of Magic
In our Spotlight On series we’re taking you on a closer look at the Scandinavian-inspired brands we love at Pip and Sox. This week we bring you the stunning creations from Numero 74.
Numero 74 is a gorgeous Italian brand that encompass linens, home decor, clothing, and accessories. At their heart is a desire to bring a sense of magic into childhood by creating timeless pieces that work well in nearly any decor.

Numero 74 was founded by cousins Poupy Sfez and Nancy Fanton in 2009 in Italy. After Nancy gave birth to twin boys she felt a calling to design products that had a sense of refinement and luxury.
The products are crafted in Thailand by local artisans within self-managed women’s cooperatives, giving employment and security to the makers and their families. Each one is made by hand using beautiful, quality fabrics including wool, linen, cashmere and cotton.

Their designs are inspired by nature and the artisan skills that are passed down from one craftsperson to another. Each piece comes about organically, from the two women’s understanding of what mothers want for their children.
The range of children’s pieces are thoughtfully made and include timeless bedding, cushions, teepees, canopy tents and garlands, as well as dress-up costumes, toys and clothing. The colours mix-and-match so well – from creams, charcoals, grey, teal, and mustard along with soft pinks and blues.

One of our favourite products is the Numero 74 canopy tent. Suspend above a bassinet or bed, or use one to create a secretive reading nook with a pile of futons and cushions piled up beneath it. Then drape a garland star across the entrance to add a touch of magic.

These really are pieces to be treasured for years and handed down to the next generation.
And the name? Well, it’s actually their combined ages when they first started the business, as well as the year Nancy was born.
